These sweet Faux Leather Tulip Earrings made with a Cricut are the perfect accessory for Spring!

In this tutorial I’ll show you how easy it is to cut and assemble these earrings using faux leather and a Cricut. The SVG file is available in my shop if you want to make this project!

Cut Setting Used✂️: Faux Leather (Paper Thin) with “More” pressure

• Faux Leather
• For the earrings on the left, I used (from top to bottom): Tulip print, Pink solid, Baby Blue White Dashes print.
• For the earrings on the right, I used (from top to bottom): Plaid print, Lavender solid, Purple Watercolor Dots print.
• For all of the prints I ordered 9×12 sheets, Regular Scale, Portrait Orientation.
• Other Project Supplies
  • Earring Hooks in Silver or Gold finish
  • 6mm Jump Rings in Silver or Gold finish
  • Jewelry Pliers – Chain Nose and/or Flat Nose
• Other Cricut Supplies
  • Blue Painters Tape
  • Small Curved Scissors
  • Purple Strong Grip Mat
  • Weeding Tool like a Pin Pen or like the one in the Cricut Basic Tool Set

Step 3: Make the Project

Set Up Your Design

1. Open a new canvas in Cricut Design Space.
2. Upload the SVG file for the Tulip Earrings to your canvas.
3. Recolor all of the shapes to be the same color if you want to cut them on the same mat (optional).

Prepare to Cut

1. Click Make It.
2. Mirror your mat(s), since you’ll be cutting the faux leather face down.
3. Position your faux leather shapes apart on the mat if cutting from different prints.
4. Choose the Faux Leather (Paper Thin) setting with More pressure.

Cut the Faux Leather

1. Place the faux leather pretty side down on a Strong Grip (purple) mat.
2. Secure all edges with blue painter’s tape.
3. Load the mat into your Cricut.
4. Press the C button to begin cutting.
5. When the cut is complete, without unloading the mat, use a sharp tool to gently lift the edge and check the cut.
6. Repeat the cut if necessary by pressing the cut button again.
7. Once the cut is complete, unload the mat and remove the shapes.

Assemble the Earrings

1. Use flat nose pliers to turn the bottom loop on the earring hooks 90 degrees so the earrings will hang straight.
2. Connect the three earring layers with a 6mm jump ring.
3. Then attach earring hooks to the jump ring and close the jump rings securely.

A: You can cut faux leather with any of the current Cricut machines because they all cut faux leather with the standard fine point blade included with each machine. For this project you can use the Cricut Maker, Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Maker 4, Cricut Explore 5, Cricut Explore 4, Cricut Explore 3, Cricut Explore Air 2, the Cricut Joy Xtra or the Cricut Joy.
