Set Up Your Design

  1. Open a new canvas in Cricut Design Space.
  2. Upload the SVG file for the Daisy Lip Balm Holder to your canvas. The holder shape will cut from one faux leather and the daisy petals from another.
  3. If you want to cut both the holder and the petals on the same mat to save time, change all three layers to the same color so Design Space puts them all on the same mat.

Prepare to Cut

  1. Click Make It.
  2. Mirror your mats, since you’ll be cutting the faux leather face down.
  3. Choose the Faux Leather (Paper Thin) setting with More pressure.

Cut the Faux Leather

  1. Place the faux leather pretty side down on a Strong Grip (purple) mat.
  2. Secure all edges with blue painter’s tape.
  3. Load the mat into your Cricut.
  4. Press the C button to begin cutting.
  5. When the cut is complete, without unloading the mat, use a sharp tool to gently lift the edge and check the cut.
  6. Repeat the cut if necessary by pressing the cut button again.
  7. Once the cut is complete, unload the mat and remove the shapes.
  8. Use a sharp weeding tool to poke through the pre-cut holes as needed.
  9. Repeat cutting the second faux leather mat if you didn’t cut all of the shapes on one mat.

Assemble the Daisy on the Flap

  1. Push an 8mm enamel rivet through the petal centers and then through the hole in the flap.
  2. Add a rivet cap to the backside and hammer the rivet closed with the rivet tools.

Assemble the Kam Snaps

  1. Next attach your Size 20 Kam Snap to the lip balm holder using Kam Snap pliers.
  2. Gather your Size 20 Kam Snaps and Kam Snap pliers. See the Installation Graphic in your download folder to see which four snap pieces you need to create one snap.
  3. Holding the holder top flap up, inside facing you, place a Size 20 snap cap through the top flap from the outside of the flap so the post goes down to the backside.
  4. Hold the Kam Snap so it doesn’t fall out of the hole and flip the flap over. Place a socket on the post.
  5. Squeeze the cap and the socket tight to close using the Kam Snap pliers.
  6. Then apply another cap and a stud to the holder inside flap.

Assemble the Holder

  1. Fold the bottom flap of the holder up to the center part and line up the set of four rivet holes.
  2. Insert 6mm rivet posts in the holes and add caps to the backside. Hammer the rivets closed.

📺You can watch a video tutorial that shows how to apply 6mm rivets to a similar project here.

Add the Keychain Hardware

  1. Use jewelry making pliers to attach a 10mm jump ring to the two slots in the top of the flap.
  2. Then attach your keyring hardware and any optional tassels
