How to make Cricut Faux Leather Flamingo & Turtle Keychains

I love to make and share summer faux leather crafts for a Cricut, and who doesn’t love flamingos and turtles as classic summer designs?
In this tutorial I’ll be showing you how to make these Layered Flamingo & Turtle Keychains using faux leather and Cricut cutting machine. Summer is a great time for fun mixing and matching of prints and patterns, and this project is infused with that casual, summery patchwork style.

Answers to your questions about making Flamingo & Turtle Faux Leather Keychains with a Cricut
Q: Which Cricut machines will cut faux leather?
A: You can cut faux leather with any of the current Cricut machines because they all cut faux leather with the standard fine point blade included with each machine. For this project you can use the Cricut Maker, Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Maker 4, Cricut Explore 4, Cricut Explore 3, Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Joy Xtra. This project is too large for the Cricut Joy.
Q: What is the best glue for faux leather?
A: I use Beacon Fabri-Tac when gluing faux leather together because it spreads thinly and evenly. I prefer it to something like E-6000 which tends to be more gloopy. You can also use Bearly Art Glue, but you’ll need more of it because it absorbs into the back of the faux leather more than Fabri-Tac does.
Q: How do I get the SVG template for this project?
A: Get the SVG file from my SVG Shop here.
