Set Up Your Design

  1. Open a new canvas in Cricut Design Space.
  2. Upload the Ornament Bow Earrings SVG to your canvas.
  3. Select all of the layers and make them the same color if you want to cut them all on the same mat.
  4. Or you can leave them colored as is and cut each mat separately.

Prepare to Cut

  1. Click Make It.
  2. Mirror your mat(s), since you’ll be cutting faux leather face down.
  3. Position your faux leather shapes apart on the mat if cutting from different prints.
  4. Choose the Faux Leather (Paper Thin) setting with More pressure.

Cut the Faux Leather

  1. Place the faux leather pretty side down on a Strong Grip (purple) mat.
  2. Secure all edges with blue painter’s tape.
  3. Load the mat into your Cricut.
  4. Press the C button to begin cutting.
  5. When the cut is complete, without unloading the mat, use a sharp tool to gently lift the edge and check the cut.
  6. Repeat the cut if necessary by pressing the cut button again.
  7. Once the cut is complete, unload the mat and remove the shapes.

Cut the Heat Transfer Vinyl

  1. Return to Design Space and cut the heat transfer vinyl mat using the manufacturer’s recommended cut setting for the brand and type of heat transfer vinyl.
  2. Weed away the excess vinyl.

Press the HTV onto the Earrings

  1. Preheat an Easy Press to 265 degrees or set an Easy Press Mini to the Low setting.
  2. Place the faux leather on a heat pressing pad and layer the HTV shape at the top of the ornament.
  3. Cover with a Teflon sheet or cover sheet.
  4. Press for 5-7 seconds. Remove the Teflon sheet and try to peel away the clear vinyl cover sheet.
  5. If the vinyl lifts up, cover and press again in 5 second increments.
  6. Repeat with the other earring.
  7. Place the warm earring shapes under your heat pressing pad to cool flat for 1-2 minutes.

Attach the Bow with Rivets

  1. Push a 6mm rivet post from the through the second hole from the top on the earring shape, from the back to front.
  2. Place the bow shape onto the rivet post.
  3. Press a rivet cap on the end of the rivet post. Then use the rivet tools & a hammer to secure the rivet tight.

📺You can watch a video tutorial that shows how to apply 6mm rivets here.

Attach Trees & Earring Hooks

  1. Apply the trees to the center of the ornament with fabric or craft glue.
  2. Check the placement on both trees while the glue is still wet to make sure the placement is the same on both earrings.
  3. Use flat nose jewelry pliers and 6mm jump rings to attach the earrings to earring hooks.
  4. Turn the bottom loop on the earring hook 90 degrees so the earrings will hang straight on the ears.
